For anyone who might be a tad wiser on this subject...
I was wondering if anyone here knows of a good spark plug for a ford F-150 5.4L v8 and mustang v6? I've considered pulse star for the mustang after the E3's didn't actually work as I thought they would have. Just wondering if anyone has an idea here or not?
Next...I thought of upgrading to HID lights on both, but it seems hard to find products for them such as projector headlights.

Hard to beat Autolite plugs, which I believe still come stock in Fords. What year is your truck JD?

Agreed i use those in my car, I dont buy into any of those gimmick plugs with the 3 electrodes and all that jazz.Tried them once in my car and it actually ran worse. HID's? I dunno.... i just use the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs in my car.Alot brighter that the plain jane stock bulbs.

2007 car and truck.
the truck kinda hiccups / engine twitches every so 5-10 seconds on random. Not sure what that is but it has 75,000 miles on it.
When I looked at the plugs, they were motorcraft plugs on both. The truck is currently running champion plugs.

If it hiccups and studders you probably need a tune up...dist cap/rotor, plugs, plug wires (my car used to hiccup and studder , turned out it was a plug wire that was burned by the header and arching) Maybe even a fuel filter if your feeling generous...lol.If you do get a tune up done have them check your timing and have them check for any codes to see if anything is wrong. Preventative maintenance ftw.

Bosch Platinums are a good choice if you want to stick to something sort of top of the line... I think split-fires and the rest of that stuff is just snake-oil too. I'd also say plugs/cap/rotor/wires but that really depends on the vehicle. I'm pretty sure your F-150 has individual coils at the plug and ignition is ECU controlled. These ain't your father's Oldsmobiles! You won't see conventional plug wires on these motors. I just looked at my '03 and what you'll probably see is alternating injectors and coils in rows on the top of the engine. Sometimes you can get an idea of what's happening in the individual cylinders by looking at the burn patterns/residue left on the old plugs as you replace them. I'm no pro but it's easy enough to see if there's a lot of carbon build-up on one vs. the rest or one looks significantly different than the rest. http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/tech_suppo ... aqread.aspHID's done right are not a cheap endeavor. Typical HID's (I have OEM HID lowbeams on my STi) have an external transformer and the bulbs are NOT cheap, sometimes costing a couple hundred dollars apiece. Usually the lens housing has to be specially designed to direct the light correctly and due to the heat output from the bulbs themselves. I would think for a car like a Mustang, there's probably an aftermarket kit or two, but don't be too surprised if you're talking $500-$1k... Buyer beware on the cheaper retrofit kits that just replace the bulbs in stock housings. At the very least you're probably going to blind oncoming traffic since the stock reflectors were designed for standard incandesent bulbs.

That was what everyone suggested ppl do by getting projector housings with HID lighting. Obviously i made the mistake of buying off e-bay. they say to not do that, as the better kits are well around where cappy suggested in price.
I was hoping to replace some halogen bulbs to conserve energy as LEDS do. I had HID's on my VW and they were awesome with projector housings...OEM when i bought em.
sounds like a service/tuneup is in order + alignment I think. Oh well.
